How We Check Every Batch of Pharmaceutical Packaging

For a pharmaceutical company, the container is part of the product. A neck that is slightly out of size leaks; a cap that is too loose fails a stability test; a wall that is too thin cracks on the filling line. That is why every batch of bottles and caps we make for pharmaceutical customers is checked against an agreed specification before dispatch.

What we measure

Each product has its own specification sheet — the same Body and Cap tables you can see on our product pages. A typical bottle is checked for:

  • Raw material — virgin, pharma-grade HDPE, PET or PP from approved suppliers
  • Weight — within a tight tolerance, because weight tracks wall thickness
  • Neck height and outer diameter of the thread — so the cap seals every time
  • Total height and body diameter — so the bottle runs smoothly on filling and labelling lines
  • Brimful volume — the true capacity of the bottle
  • Colour and shape — matched to the approved sample

Caps are checked too

Caps get their own checks — material, colour, weight, height and outer diameter — and are test-fitted on the matching bottle. A good bottle with a poorly matched cap is still a failed pack.

Clean production

Pharmaceutical containers are moulded, trimmed and packed in clean production areas by staff in hairnets, masks and gloves, and packed in sealed poly bags inside cartons so they arrive ready for the filling line.

If you need a specification sheet or samples for your own quality approval, get in touch — we are happy to send both.
